It's been too long...

Wow... it's been too long.  I've decided to restart this blog, because frankly, I have interesting things to say, and I think that they are worth sharing.  Maybe that is arrogant, and maybe it is pretentious.  But really, I listen to people with very little to say, at least very little intelligent to say, on a regular basis.  So... I am going to commit to a weekly update at the least.  It is the summer, so it shouldn't be too tough.  In the fall I will be heading back to grad school (MA History at Millersville University of Pennsylvania for anyone who cares) and it might get tougher, but - oh well.

A few personal updates.

First, I am currently learning Latin.  Yea, kind of a weird thing to be doing.  I am working on an MA in History, specializing in European History, concentrating on the Middle Ages and its religious history.  To do this effectively, and to eventually study at Hopkins in Baltimore, I need to know Latin, since the reality is that most medieval texts are written in Latin.  So... expect a few posts about the realities of how tough this really is.

Second, I will be exploring the oddities of teaching.  I will be teaching part-time at a little private, Christian school in 2012-2013 school year.  My subject will be Social Studies, and possibly Grammar and Composition.  This might be an interesting thing to document, and to examine in some detail as I progress.  Of course, student confidentiality would be fully protected - I know the drill, after all.

Third, I will be talking music and guitar.  I have MASSIVELY minimized my collection since my last post.  I think that when I posted last, I was dealing with 10+ guitars.  Currently, I own 4.  I want to document my guitar collection, as well as my amps and effects, and the changes that occur within my collection.  So... let's look at music some too.

Finally, I will be posting a few random thoughts.  I have been really doing some looking at theology lately, and want to talk a little about my personal religious development.  Additionally, I want to look a little at politics, and document the election of 2012.  So expect a few posts on that front as well.

So, till my next post, have fun, live well, walk in love, and may the grace and peace of Christ follow you wherever you may go.
